The AmericanWebLog Plan
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain
A mix of travel journal, American chronicle, and reflection.
AmericanWebLog is a travel journal of daily events and experience as my dog, Akena, and I live in a homemade travelvan and work around the country. It includes the stories of creating the travelvan, life on the road and in campgounds, towns, and cities, and making a living while moving around.
As a permanent record of the people I meet, the places I go, and the events I encounter--at this unique time in history during the first years of a new millenium--it is an American chronicle shown through images, articles, and interviews. Although not intended as a reaction to the terrible events of September 11th, AmericanWebLog will, no doubt, include content about the changing mood and events in America that stem from that day.
AmericanWeblog is reflection in the way my thoughts, ponderings, and observations are revealed as I travel and work. AmericanWeblog will hopefully be a reflection, too, in the sense of showing America to itself; one man's documented glimpse of the rich diversity and culture that make up our nation.
This will be an ever changing website as pages slowly grow and evolve. Main sections will mature in design and format, new content will be added on a regular basis, and older content will be archived.
